12 The Wolfinger House
Carl August Wolfinger (1823-1900) lived in this house and worked as a hosier. After the introduction of freedom of worship in Bavaria in 1808 by King Max I Joseph, Lutherans were able to settle in Miesbach again. Wolfinger was the first Lutheran resident of Miesbach after the Counter Reformation when he came here from Dinkelsbühl in 1854. The Wolfingeranger, where the Church of the Apostles (1) now stands is named after him. The picture shows the allegorical reconciliation of the confessions.
